Cristiano Ronaldo won the FIFA World Player of the Year award 2008.At the age of eight he joined his first team, an amateur club named Andorinha. He attracted the attention of Madeira's top two clubs, CS Martimo and CD Nacional by the time his age hit double figures. He joined the latter one in 1995.
He was signed by Sporting Lisbon for an undisclosed fee in 1997 and he became the one player in Sporting's history to play for the Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, B Team and First Team within a season.
In the summer of 2003, he joined Red Devils for £12.24 million. The initial choice of Cristiano Ronaldo was No.28 but Alex Ferguson gave him an opportunity to follow in the footsteps of legends - No:7
By scoring 42 goals in 2008, this is more than enough for him to be crowned as the FIFA World Player award.
Meanwhile, the rumour that linking to Real Marid has never stopped before. We'll see and i am always ready to see him walk out the Theatre of Dreams. He is good indeed but is not the kind of player that i really respect. I would rather turn to professional players like Steven Gerarrd, Zidane, Kaka or David Beckham.
