happy merdeka day

With Seven shouts of 'MERDEKA' by our inaugural prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman, we declared independence.

Here you go. This is the entry ticket for the merdeka event in melbourne last night. It was really fun and there were plenty of pretty hot chicks @.@ The countdown was set as 2am instead of 12am(based on malaysia time). 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 , 4, 3, 2, 1 ... MERDEKA!!! What came up next? It was Malaysia National Anthem! Negaraku .... LOL. Ermm, i think if playing "negarakuku" this song will be great and it would be the climax of the night, no doubt. hehe

how is malaysian contigent in melbourne?
As a sarawakian like you and me, merdeka has nothing to do with us. we declared national independence and the formation of malaysia on the 16th sept 1963. therefore we will celebrate in 14 days time for the nation's 45 years anniversary. And my friend, this date suppose to be the national day by marking it as a national holiday, no?

oh yea, thank for reminding me we should celebrate on 16th September. But the point is, may be we are the only 2 people who celebrate it. No holiday, people how to celebrate?

true. sarawak was still using the british borneo dollar when merdeka was announced proudly by the then menteri besar, tunku abdul rahman.
16th sept in sabah is a holiday but i doubt in sarawak. anyone can confirm?
